3, Safe Design
A good rabbit hutch/chicken coops provides shelter, is easy to clean and resists moisture, and keep your pets safe and secure from the weather and out of reach of predators.
It is essential that all the access points are secured with robust quality latches.
The outside area is surrounded by a wire cage that is dense enough to stop claws getting in but still provides plenty of fresh air and visibility for the rabbit/chicken.
4, Proper Size
The size of your cage is a very important consideration. When you design your coop/hutch make sure you design it with a clear number in mind of how many chickens will be living there throughout the coops operational years. Rather build it too big than too small. Pls refer to how many space does a rabbit or chicken need? to get more information .Once you know how much space you’ll need, decide on a location. Keep in mind that chickens need both direct sunlight and shade(Refer to Do Chicken Coops Need Sun or Shade?). Direct sunlight will provide your chickens with the necessary vitamin D needed to produce healthy eggs. However, if you chicken overheats egg production will slow drastically or stop completely. It is therefore imperative that you place your chicken coop in a location that receives both sun and shade. The rabbits can live indoor or outdoor, if you want to know about it,pls refer to Is it Better for Pet Rabbits to Live Indoors or Outdoors？
Ventilation is important. Make sure that the pet house is well ventilated. Air needs to move through even in the winter, but in the summer it’s really important. Besides, make sure the ventilation at the same time to guarantee predator proof.
